Biography Information

1998-2003: Studies of Humanbiology at the University of Greifswald (Germany): Majors in Immunology and Physiology/Pathophysiology, Minor in Pharmacology.
2002-2006: PhD Student, Scholar of the German Research Society Graduation College "Host-pathogen interactions", PhD thesis on acute and chronic stress-induced alterations of the immune defense systems, metabolism and behavior in mice
2006-2008: Post-doctoral researcher and lecturer at the University of Greifswald (Medical Faculty): Investigation of the impact of psychological stress on the development of infectious complications in mice and the involvement of indole-amine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) in the stress response;
Psychoneuroimmunology became main focus of research with several international publications and presentations at scientific conferences
2009-2011: Postdoctoral fellow at UCLA: Research on the the influence of stress on the pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)
since 2011: Director of Research at AtomRain, working at the cutting edge connecting science, healthcare and technology
