Amir Moezzi > Biography

Dr Amir Moezzi is the founder/director and chemical/process engineer at Avocado Engineering Pty Ltd. He holds a PhD in chemistry/nanotechnology from University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and a BSc. (Hons) in chemical/process engineering (oil/gas) from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST). Currently, he is working on industrial waste processing and resource recovery projects. Prior to establishing the company in 2012, he has been an independent engineering consultant since 2009 working with chemical manufacturing companies. He is expert in zinc-waste processing operations, which implement hydrometallurgical processes to convert zinc-bearing wastes into valuable zinc chemicals such as zinc oxide, zinc sulfate, chloride and carbonate. Prior to this period, Mr. Moezzi has been a process/mechanical design engineer at Austrian Energy & Environment Australia (AEEA) in the field of combined cycle and open cycle power plant EPCM projects of Sino Iron, Cape Preston, WA, Condamine power Station, Queensland and Worsley Multi-Fuel Cogen Power Plant, WA, Australia. Between 2004 and 2007, he has been a process design engineer in the projects of oil and gas industry in Iran working on national EPCM projects of natural gas processing. Dr Moezzi is expert in chemical/process design engineering including waste processing and technologies, chemistry/nanotechnology (zinc chemicals expert). He designs novel processes for waste management and processing.

He specialises in process/chemical engineering (design & innovation), procurement solutions for diverse range of raw materials and technological chemicals as well as material international logistics. He provides engineering, scientific and technological solutions to a variety of industries. He combines his engineering knowledge with the cutting-edge scientific/technological solutions to create designs and innovations for a diverse range of industries such as oil/gas, mining, mineral processing and waste management companies.
