It's an exciting day here at Patexia. Espresso, the the launch of the new brand, went live!
"Espresso is a concentrated beverage brewed by forcing a small amount of nearly boiling water under pressure through finely ground coffee beans. Espresso often has a thicker consistency than coffee brewed by other methods, a higher concentration of suspended and dissolved solids, and crema (foam). As a result of the pressurized brewing process the flavours and chemicals in a typical cup of coffee are very concentrated. Espresso is the base for other drinks, such as a latte, cappuccino, macchiato, mocha, or americano.Espresso has more caffeine per unit volume than most beverages, but the usual serving size is smaller—a typical 60 mL (2 US fluid ounce) "double shot" of espresso has 80 to 150 mg of caffeine, rather less than the 95 to 200 mg of a standard 240 mL (8 US fluid ounces) cup of drip-brewed coffee." The objective of Espresso was to update the site's look and feel to match the new brand. That meant a redesigned global header, updated page layouts, an invitation-only system, and a relaunching of the brand.
Espresso is a wonderfully complex coffee beverage used at the basis for a multitude of other drinks. We'll be rolling out more and more updates to the individual pages as we go on, and we hope that, like the coffee serves as the basis for such wonderful drinks as lattes, cappuccinos, and macchiatos, our new espresso release will be the basis for smart, tidy, effortless, and stunning design across our website.
In the meantime, you can thank our design wizard Aldo Puicon for dreaming it up, and the whole engineering team at Patexia for making his ideas into reality. It was a lot of work for all involved, so they're deserving of some applause.
We're trying to make Patexia a meeting place for people trying to improve the world of intellectual property, and I at least feel that with the Espresso launch, we've got some of the world-class design that befits the quality and aspirations of our community.
In other news, our first prior art search contest closed this weekend. As you may know, one of the ways we're trying to bring efficiency to intellectual property is by helping businesses with improved novelty assessment of patents. We think the best way to do that (and to solve many problems in IP) is by reconnecting them with subject matter experts.
We're trying to facilitate that goal with our contest platform. We hope this platform will reduce current and future litigation costs and help businesses value IP assets, which will help improve efficiency in the IP space and drive innovation.
So the close of our first contest was a milestone for Patexia. It went very well; there were some absolute experts involved. We're excited to share the results with you, look for it in the coming few weeks.
