CONTEST

Problem

Patexia is looking for a method for generating continuous resource allocation signaling based on certain steps.

Submitted documents describing this system must be:

●      published before 09/29/2007

●      not on the known references list

The Patexia Case Research team has designed the following questions for a crowdsourced validity analysis of EP 2175578 B1 with a focus on claim 1.

Figure 1 shows all the details regarding the method.

Questions

#QuestionValue
1Is the reference either a US patent published, a foreign patent published, or a non-patent document published before September 29, 2007 T/F
2Does the reference describe a method for generating continuous resource allocation signaling, comprising the following steps? 10
3 Does the reference further describe step S01, a sender determining a value of a parameter NRB according to the total number of resources in a system and determining, according to the amount and location of the total resources occupied by continuous resources allocated to a target user equipment, values of parameters LCRBs and RBstart (wherein, the NRB denotes the total number of resource blocks in the system, the LCRBs denotes the number of continuous resource blocks allocated to the user equipment, and the RBstart denotes an index number of a starting resource block in the continuous resource blocks allocated to the user equipment)? 10
4Does the reference further show step S02, the sender comparing LCRBs -1 with └NRB/2┘ to compute a Resource Indication Value, RIV, of resource allocation signaling of the user equipment, (if the LCRBs -1 is greater than the └NRB/2┘, then the RIV is NRB (NRB -LCRBs +1)+(NRB -1-RBstart ) or NRB × NRB -NRB × LCRBs+ NRB ×2-1-RBstart ; else, the RIV is NRB (LCRBs-1)+RBstar)? 10
5 Does the reference further show step S03, the resource allocation signaling of the target user equipment being generated according to the RIV and transmitted. 10
6Does the reference describe explicitly or give a hint/motivation to change from “LCRBs -1 is greater than the⌈NRB/2⌉ (ceil)”to “LCRBs -1 is greater than the ⌊NRB/2⌋ (floor)”. 60

Prior Art Search

This is a Prior Art Search contest aimed at determining if a patent idea was known and publicly available before a patent was filed.

+5 bonus points will be awarded for non-patent literature and for foreign language references.

This contest will close on Sunday, April 12th, 2016 at 11:59 PM PT.
