Problem

Patexia seeks prior art for a mobile device, equipped with a camera that can automatically capture an image of a check in the field of view of the camera. The image in the field of view is monitored and when it passes monitoring criteria, it is taken (automatically by the processor) and sent to a financial institution for further processing (e.g., deposit in the user’s bank account).  Feedback information is also provided to the user, where the feedback information provides instructions for the user on how to correct the camera/image in order to satisfy the monitoring criteria.

Submitted documents describing this system must be:

  • Filed,  published, or disclosing the functioning of a system that was in public use or on sale before August 21, 2009.
  • Not on the known references list (please check very carefully as the list is very large)
  • Submissions of non-English documents will have 5 bonus points.
  • Non-patent literature will have an additional 5 bonus point
  • Documents describing a check (or other financial instruments) as the target document/image to be captured will have 5 bonus points.

This contest is for a prior art search for US Patent US 9,818,090, with a focus on claims (1).
