Problem
Patexia seeks prior art for US Patent 7,120,167 (US ‘167) - “Broadcasting system and its method.” The patent allegedly describes a device that receives a digital broadcast that contains a multiplexed signal of a variable number and type of contents, as well as metadata information regarding the type of the contents. The described receiver device purpose is to execute a process to restore the contents into accessible form. The receiver device is additionally able to determine, based on the attached metadata, whether the contents can be restored and, based on the determination, alter its process in restoring the contents of the original broadcast.
In broad terms, the patent describes a device that is able to make its restoration process more efficient by focusing its efforts on restoring only the content types mentioned in the metadata of the broadcast, instead of attempting to restore the entire broadcast.
