Best Buy and Constellation Energy develop energy efficiency program for Illinois consumers

A pilot program developed by Best Buy and Constellation Energy has given a unique opportunity to Illinois consumers to enhance their energy efficiency and reduce electricity prices. Exelon company, Constellation Energy, has partnered with Best Buy to make it more convenient for customers to shop for low-cost energy rates while searching for energy-efficient products. Vice president of new business channel development for Constellation, Michael Wajsgras, stated that many Chicagoland residents have taken advantage of one-stop shopping to lower their monthly electric supply rate and buying energy-efficient products from expert Best Buy reps. Since 2010, interest in shopping for electricity has increased among Illinois residents when the Illinois Commerce Commission authorized a new billing system enabling suppliers to easily offer residents the benefits of competitive energy market prices. Over 316,000 Illinois consumers have chosen new home electricity suppliers in the past year.
