Clyde Blowers acquires Moventa for windpower gear manufacturing

Moventas, a Finnish wind turbine and industrial gear maker that filed for bankrupty for two of its subsidiaries earlier this year, is being purchased for 100 million euros by Clyde Blowers Capital. Its center of production will remain in Finland. Clyde Blowers also owns David Brown Gear Systems, an industrial gear and drive systems producer, thus ensuring a strong production synergy with Moventas. Competitors for Moventas like Winergy are owned by Siemens, Hansen Transmission, and Bosch Rexroth. Moventas supplies equipment for General Electric and Vestas Wind Systems, among others.
