Tech-Focused IP Litigation Team Joins Paul Hastings in Silicon Valley and Washington

Paul Hastings LLP has announced the addition of a six-partner team of IP litigators, including Shamita Etienne-Cummings, Lisa Nguyen, Eric Lancaster, James Gagen, and Grace Wang. This strategic move further strengthens the firm's position in global IP practice.

The new team, comprising highly experienced IP litigators, will be based across different locations, with Etienne-Cummings and Gagen in Washington, D.C., Nguyen and Lancaster in Palo Alto, and Wang in New York. With their IP and technical expertise, the team specializes in litigation across various patent venues, including U.S. District Courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC), the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Coming from Allen & Overy LLP, the team brings extensive experience in representing clients across Big Tech and high-growth industries such as AI, AR/VR, e-commerce, software and hardware systems, internet, semiconductor, telecommunications, mobile devices, consumer electronics, and payment systems. According to Frank Lopez, Chair of Paul Hastings, this move aligns with the firm's strategy of enhancing its platform with premier talent, particularly in key sectors like IP litigation. He emphasized that deepening their IP litigation bench in Silicon Valley and Washington will strengthen their position in capturing additional market share at the top of the market.
