USPTO Invalidates Apple Patent from Samsung Case

Earlier this week, the USPTO Central Reexamination Division found Apple's design patent 618,677 invalid over the prior art. D'677 was one of the patents asserted against Samsung in what was at the time the most high profile IP infringement lawsuit in the tech industry. Samsung is expected to petition the Supreme Court to reexamine the case, and the damages they have been asked to pay, in light of this new development.
