Sang NkhwaziBy virtue of what Patents stand for, they are inevitable to cause problems. If everyone ate their own pie, and was content with their patch of green, all would be well. Not so though when it comes to Patents, it seems its a tendency, in my view, probably driven by greed that causes patent thickets. Of all the Patents they are bickering about, how many are in actual use? If we can knock out Trade marks for non-use, why couldn't we introduce the same in Patent Law, and require them. Finally, I'm searching the term " Trade Mark thickets or "Trade Mark trolls", and interestingly I can't find it. Any surprises there?

Gena PatentThough of course it's completely legal for companies to enforce their IP against their competition, I am ambivalent; is it ethical for corporations to use patent acquisition and litigation merely as anti-competitive tactics, or should these disputes be settled in the marketplace, where they belong?
