Biography Information

Pharmaceutical leader with broad corporate and R&D experience creating and developing therapeutics for unmet clinical needs. As Genoa's (now Avalyn Pharma) founder and CEO, organized and closed the company's $62M Series A Financing. Upon close, stepped aside to Avalyn's Chief Scientific Officer Officer to focus on nonclinical and pipeline development. Prior to Genoa/Avalyn, served as a consultant and employee for several start-up and mid-size companies directing drug development programs for the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular and various pulmonary diseases. Also served as a BIO Boot Camp faculty member directing entrepreneurs in company formation and fundraising activities. Well-published and holds more than 30 patents in formulation, drug delivery, pharmacology and pulmonary medicine. Earned a Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Illinois, and M.S. and B.Sc. in microbiology from California State University, Long Beach.
