| Biography | An engaging entrepreneur, Mr. Boron is owner of DJ Entrepreneurial Enterprises, LLC. He offers hands-on experience in program and project management and consulting services on energy technologies.
Mr. Boron is a 30 year veteran of government service. His experience includes 10 years of field work at the National Energy Technology Laboratory, including 4 years as a research bench chemist and 6 years as a project manager. In addition, Mr. Boron has 20 years of HQ experience, including 5 years as a program manager, 7 years as a technology development manager, and 8 years in IT-related management. A chemist by training, Mr. Boron has worked most of his career in technology development including catalysis, biocatalysis, and chemical and biological process engineering. He has served as project manager for first-of-kind chemical processing pilot plants and coal-processing pilot plants. In an earlier life, Mr. Boron successfully marketed and negotiated a license agreement for novel coal cleaning technology in the coal industry.
In addition to his federal government tenor, Mr. Boron has 8 years of private, non-profit, and academic work experience including time spent as a United Mine Worker at North American Coal Company, battery foreman at the Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Company (coke plant), senior project manager at the New York State Energy Research Authority, and research scientist at Virginia Tech.
Outside of his daily 7-4 routine, Mr. Boron is a Board Member of the Federal Executive Institute, volunteers for the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts and the George Mason University Center for the Performing Arts, hikes, plays guitar, and has a small home repair and landscaping business. | |
