Biography | Mark Pidkowich has a diverse practice focused on patent prosecution in the fields of life sciences and chemistry. Dr. Pidkowich has experience in drafting U.S., Canadian, and PCT patent applications, and advises clients throughout subsequent patent prosecution in various jurisdictions, including Canada, Europe, the United States and Australia. Dr. Pidkowich regularly provides advice on patent-related issues such as patentability, validity and infringement.
With several years of postdoctoral experience in life sciences and agricultural biotechnology, Dr. Pidkowich has published several peer-reviewed publications in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (U.S.A.) and the Plant Cell. He was a research associate at Brookhaven National Laboratory where he worked on the metabolic engineering of designer oils in oilseed crops, and has also worked on the molecular farming of enzyme therapies for rare metabolic disorders at Simon Fraser University. This diverse, hands-on industry experience has afforded Dr. Pidkowich a technical background in plant science and agricultural biotechnology that is a particular asset to the clients with which he most frequently works. | |
