Google Sued for Infringing on Nortel Patents

After an unsuccessful bid to buy the Nortel patent portfolio, reportedly for as high as $4.4 billion dollars, Google is now being sued for infringing on them. Rockstar, the consortium that beat Google to it, led by tech-giants Apple, Microsoft, Blackberry, Ericsson and Sony, is now putting the portfolio to use. The lawsuit is seeking increased damages due to Google's "willful infringement" and even states that: "Despite losing in its attempt to acquire the patents-in-suit ... Google has infringed and continues to infringe."
