Andy BosyiHi Biplab. Thanks for the great questions. Let me address them individually.

Re: 1 and 2, the patent claims are agnostic to the HARQ type. As we read it, the claims could apply to type 1 or type 2 or with soft combing equally. The focus appears to be that the method include a way to communicate that information through the added variable that describes the HARQ information. So long as the number of HARQ processes is restricted for the correct mode.

Re: 3, you're absolutely correct. We could probably do without the extra clause in question 4. It could be rewritten as: "Does the method add a variable describing HARQ information into a radio resource control message, and send this to the mobile device?"
